We had a disasterous experience. The service was as slow as we’d ever experienced, taking over 45 minutes for our food to arrive after we ordered, which wasn’t timely after we were seated. My dining companions were served before me. When mine finally came it wasn’t what I ordered. I told the waiter, who convinced me to accept it anyway. Because I didn’t want another lenghty wait, I complied, but after a couple bites I told them to take it away. And it was expensive, they made no compensation on the bill. I will NEVER go back. .

AWSOME! This is true sicilian dinning, everything is old school! DON’T WALK IN HERE WITH FAST FOOD EXPECTATIONS, leave you american lifestyle outside, you must want to relax and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere! All traditional sicilian decorations! But the food, where can I start! You must get the antipasta Caponata, gnocchi alla norma, and the Spiadine, soooo good! Stray from you “california” wine path and get a 100% Nero D’Avola sicilian wine! Dessert, I think it’s called Bombo di Ciocolato, don’t ask, just try it. get a little dessert wine or just some good old espresso, almost as good as being in italy. Once again, this is no tourist attraction, don’t expect your average american style restaurant, this is sicilian pace, style, and passion. Buon appetito!!!

highly recommended for anyone looking for the sort of special dining experience you would hope to share with treasured family and friends. not the sort of place to be in a hurry, the focus here is on Life, rather than a rapid turn-over of tables. (take a clue from the fact that there’s almost always a wait to get in during high-times, and there’s good reason why people will happily wait for it. enjoy a glass of wine or three while you watch the bustling activity of the open kitchen!) excellent food prepared to Momma Rosas high standards, the frequent wonderful specials will force you to decide between them and the dishes you’ve already tried and love. an atmosphere full of passion for Life and food were you could show up in jeans or your best suit while out for a night on the town; the sort of place more than one young man has chosen to propose.
a few visits here and you’re likely to feel more like a friend of the family than a customer.
order several different things and share them, then try to leave room for dessert; many of them are fabulous, but the Tiramisu is as good as it gets!

This is a great great place although the wait can be a bummer and the cash only thing is annoying. As long as I don’t get seated next to the staircase, I am a happy camper. Their lobster based risotto with jumbo shrimp is to die for.

I am out of the olive oil I purchased at a crafts faire in San Francisco and want to know if I can purchase more at your site. The label on the bottle is “Olio della Mamma”. It goes on to say, “The finest blend of herbs and fresh garlic combined to create the most authentic Sicilian Olive Oil available. Good for your heart, Good for your sole. The Dalo Family Berkeley. This oil is wonderful and I’d like to order more if possible. Thank you, Linda from Merced, Ca.

Not special enough to warrant the wait and the price. I had reservations and we were seated 40 minutes later. Several people that had reservations waited longer. One poor soul made his reserviation on the web and they didn’t check the web so his family got seated as we were leaving. They like to serve family style which means ordering three dishes for the table that everyone shares. It matters not if everyone wants something different, they want you to settle on three items and share. The food was OK but I’ve had better and in reality, I’ve even made better on occasion. An appetizer, a salad and three entress (no wine) totalled $140. All in, I don’t think the expereince, food, atmosphere, etc. was a great value.

Decent food, nothing special. Do not order the whole roasted fish, as it was almost spoiled. I should have told them to take it back, but the wait for the food was so long I didn’t bother. Great olive oil/garlic/chili flake spread for the bread.
