Anthony York of the Los Angeles Times and I were both on the road with the Guv for his budget event in the Antelope Valley, and decided to do our weekly check-in from there. (And as it turns out, I was right: we were in Santa Clarita.)

We'd hoped to reconvene after the event, but Brown blew way past the planned timing, and way in to our news deadlines. As a result, I decided to give you an unedited listen to Brown's chats with reporters both before and after the event.
