About: Stephanie Hua

Profile: Stephanie Hua left her marketing job on Wall Street to live the dream and become a food writer in San Francisco. She is the creator of Lick My Spoon, a food blog for all things delicious—and all the passion, surprises, and indulgence that come with it. Her restaurant reviews and recipes have been featured in Asian Week. When she writes, Stephanie will sometimes summon the creative spirit of Ruth Reichl, her inspiration for using taste memory to delight and move others. Other times, she will call upon Anthony Bourdain, when honesty and snarky brilliance is what’s needed. Either way, the power of food – the memories associated with certain dishes, the back-stories, the history, the culture, the pure sensuality and joy of it – is what fascinates her and drives her desire to share it through the best way she knows how. With words. (And vivid mouth-watering food photography whenever possible). Stephanie has been known to choose her company based on how much they can pack it down. Ability to endure cramped quarters, sketchy back alleys, and uncharted paths to seek out that special dish is also a plus in her book. If you fit the criteria, drop a note. You’ll probably get along just fine.
