Profile: I am an English teacher, freelance food and travel writer, and food blogger. When recently faced with a grim employment climate in the Bay Area, I turned to my other passion (besides hormonal, thankless teenagers): writing. My work has appeared in The San Francisco Examiner, Edible SF, The San Francisco Bay Guardian and is forthcoming in Edible Marin and Wine Country and Wild Blue Yonder. I most enjoy writing restaurant reviews, neighborhood food profiles, chef interviews, and pieces on food culture. In addition to teaching and writing, I love baking at home, running the occasional marathon, and trying out new spots around the Bay Area--especially those specializing in artisan sweets, chocolate, or ice cream. My favorite food writers are Molly Wizenberg, Edna Lewis, Ruth Reichl, and Amanda Hesser.
