7/07: Transmitter status / 2 other tech issues
KQED-DT9 (San Francisco)
Fiber feeds to Comcast Cable, Astound Cable and AT&T U-verse normal. Over-the-Air (OTA) transmissions normal, operating at 98-100% power. 100% power = 710 kW.
KQED Plus-DT54 (San Jose)
Fiber feeds to Comcast Cable, DirecTV and Dish Network normal. OTA transmissions normal, operating at 98-100% power. 100% power = 290 kW.
Fiber feeds to Comcast Cable normal. OTA transmissions normal, operating at 98-100% power. 100% power = 81 kW.
Two technical issues not related to transmitters:
The programming schedule for KQED v-me (Comcast 191/621, DT54.5, DT25.3) is currently 3 hours earlier than “normal”, as we are passing the satellite feed straight through, rather than delaying it for 3 hours. The delay box is out for repairs. We expect to stay on this “early” schedule for at least another 7-10 days, possibly longer.
The Over the Air DT54.# onscreen guide for all our DT54 channels is currently 1 hour off. It is also occasionally not reading information for its various channels, and instead posting a generic “DTV Program” message. A piece of equipment for this function is also out for repair. We anticipate this problem lasting through most of July, possibly longer.
Updates on both issues will be posted here as new information becomes available.
