The KQET Over the Air signal was restored at apx noon Mon 6/21. While most digital tuners should handle a short interruption without problem, some Over The Air viewers of DT25 may need to “rescan” or “scan add” to restore their tuner’s lock on our signal.

KQET’s transmitter on Fremont Peak will shut down for a short time at apx 11:30am Mon 6/21 for fan belt maintenance. While most digital tuners should handle a short interruption of just a few minutes without problem, some Over The Air viewers of DT25 may need to “rescan” or “scan add” to restore their tuner’s lock on our signal. Comcast Cable customers should see no interruption in service. Other Cable and satellite companies will restore their signals as soon as the transmitter is back up.

Wed 6/16: 1:30pm KQED & KTEH Over the Air & Cable

June 16, 2010 · Filed Under Uncategorized · Comment

Due to an equipment failure in our Master Control area, all KQED DT & KTEH DT programming streams other than V-Me (Comcast 191) are airing the KQED flagship channel schedule. We are not able to broadcast more than one programming stream at the moment. We are also not able to load newly recorded programs into the system, so some news/daily shows may be repeats of older programs. KQED’s Wednesday night primetime programming should be okay, as most of it was loaded into the system before the equipment failure. Estimated repair time not known. (V-Me is a satellite feed, and not affected by our equipment malaise.)

Wed 6/16 11:30am: KTEH Over the Air signal off temporarily

June 15, 2010 · Filed Under KQED Plus · Comment

KTEH’s transmitter on Monument Peak will shut down for a short time at apx 11:30am Wed 6/16 for maintenance. While most digital tuners should handle a short interruption without problem, some Over The Air viewers of DT54 may need to “rescan” or “scan add” to restore their tuner’s lock on our signal. Comcast Cable customers should see no interruption in service. Other Cable and satellite companies will restore their signals as soon as the transmitter is back up.
Update: the KTEH transmitter shutdown lasted only a few minutes, so most receivers probably did not lose the KTEH DT54 signal. However, the KQED Master control problems mentioned above are affecting KTEH, in that we are unable to broadcast more than one programming stream at the moment.
