Judge Walker to Rule Thursday if Same-Sex Marriages Can Resume

Comments (1)

We received notice from the district court this evening that Judge Walker plans to issue his decision Thursday morning on whether same-sex marriages can resume in California while the supporters of Proposition 8 appeal his ruling from last week. That ruling invalidated Proposition 8 and the state's subsequent ban on same-sex marriage on grounds that they violated the United States Constitution.

We'll post the decision here as soon as we get it. And stay tuned to KQEDNews.org and KQED Radio throughout the day for what's next for both opponents and supporters of Prop. 8, and what the impact of the judge's decision might be.
