What do Jerry Falwell, "Brokeback Mountain," former Miss California Carrie Prejean, Anita Bryant, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Rev. Rick Warren and Gavin Newsom have in common? All were mentioned this morning in the Prop. 8 trial.

Andy Pugno, defense attorney for ProtectMarriage.com, made reference to all of these, arguing that attitudes, cultural depictions, and political power for gays have changed since the days of Falwell and Anita Bryant, and that gays and lesbians are not a powerless minority in need of legal protection.

Check the reasoning: Popular media portrayals that are semi-positive = full social and legal equality.

Yeah, not so much, idiot. Pugno-acious has no reasoning power and should be disbarred. In addition to supporting this hateful movement, he’s sent threatening letters through the federal mail trying to extort Prop 8 opponents. Don’t believe me? It’s on the record: http://www.miketidmus.com/blog/2008/10/23/yes-on-8-sends-extortion-letters/ has proof.

Answer me this: Why is he still practicing? Shouldn’t his license to practice law have been pulled a long time ago?
