reading_catIt’s Friday afternoon. How’s your productivity? Not great? Feeling the urge to do something more creative with your brain than file TPS reports? Fear not! Our buddies over at KQED Education have a whole tutorial on making animated GIFs! Here’s one I made of my old kitty Giro, who died in December at age 19 (RIP kitty). What are you going to do with your new GIF powers?


Animated gifs (also pronounced jiffs) are a type of file that have been around for a long time but have seen a recent resurgence in popularity. You can treat GIFs like still images in the way that you upload and share them, but they are animated, so they can behave like tiny little looping videos or slideshows.
