Filmmakers To Collaborate for ‘One Day in San Francisco’
More than 200 filmmakers will take to the streets of San Francisco this Saturday looking to tell the untold stories of the city.
One Day in San Francisco is a collaborative event for filmmakers of all levels to create a unified work that captures the essence of San Francisco. Participants can submit videos that attack any of 10 questions like, “What do you hope for your city in the next 20 years?” and “What do you love about your city?”
“We all care about the city. So I feel like this is an opportunity to not only have a voice and be heard, but to get to know the people who are in your environment,” event organizer Winnie Wong said.
Nonprofits like Project Homeless Connect, HIV Story Project and 826 Valencia will contribute videos to the project. Each video will be uploaded to the One Day in San Francisco website with location tag.
Ten other cities across the nation are also hosting “one day” filmmaking events: Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Denver, Los Angeles, Lower Rio Grande Valley, New Orleans, New York City, San Diego and Twin Cities.
