As both a property owner and an artist in the Brooklyn Basin area, development of this scale is very questionable: good for business (for some), badly considered in terms of traffic, access and congestion that very likely will degrade the spirit of the estuary (for all). This project seems desperate, corporate and so uncreative as to what Oakland should be thinking about for its responsibility to it’s environment and community. I recall a study of the estuary by Hood and Assoc., of a few years ago, which offered a very considered, humane and appropriate vision for the this area.
