Watch Obama Speak at Cesar Chavez National Monument
President Barack Obama will dedicate a National Monument to civil rights leader Cesar Chavez on Monday, the first time a Mexican American has received such an honor. His trip to the village of Keene, Calif., is a detour from his focus on undecided states; polls show California is safely in his column. But political analysts say Obama wants to sway undecided Latino voters by paying tribute to the founder of the United Farm Workers.
Chavez lived and worked in Keene at the end of his life and established the headquarters of the UFW there.
