A public memorial event will also be held in Golden Gate Park in January.

Hellman, who died Sunday evening at the age of 77, was a billionaire renowned for both his philanthropy and his sponsorship of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, the annual free music festival in Golden Gate Park.
