Some info about MLK Jr. Day in San Francisco on Monday:
- MLK Jr. Day closures (SF Chronicle)
- A march starts at 11 a.m. on 4th and Townsend, concluding at Yerba Buena Gardens, where there will be a celebration called "Sustaining the Dream."
- The Caltrain Freedom Train, chartered by the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Association of Santa Clara Valley, will be transporting people to San Francisco.
- From the SF Appeal: Streets will be closed along the march route. MUNI will operate on a regular weekday schedule and parking meters and street sweeping will be enforced. However, tow-aways in commuter lanes, residential parking permit restrictions, and Monday-Friday street sweeping will not be enforced.
In Oakland, Monday will be an enforcement holiday -- no enforcement, i.e. -- in terms of parking regulations.
In San Jose, there will be no parking meter enforcement.
BART will run on a Saturday schedule.

Finally, lest we start to focus too much on free parking, here's Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech.
