Build a wind farm on Berkeley Pier.... not such a good idea. I am an avid fisherman and frequent BP from time to time. I can't imagine the sound of those blades swooshing every 2 seconds... and then to get a nervous breakdown from the shade/sunshine intervals.... and then to have a huge windmill block the views and land/sea scape.

Put one one on the Berkely Flats or somewhere along 80 for all I care... but to put one right on the pier is someting I would be against. Remember the FUNCTION of a pier... a fishing pier.... it might not align with your plans.

And stop biking on that pier

Hey, Tom -- It's so heartening to get your comment! Liberal, radical, conservative -- we're all in the same boat, and the seas are rising.

Josh, I liked this post. I lean considerably more right than you would be comfortable with, but I consider myself an environmentalist conservative. That's usually an oxymoron, I know, but bear with me.

I appreciate that there are folks out there putting their money where their mouth is. It's one thing to sit pensively and wait for the rest of the world to do to the conserving. To forsake modern conveniences before a government edict demands it is commendable.

I'm with you; I couldn't envision living in such conditions, but there certainly must be a halfway point between life as a Luddite and life as a typical, American energy hog.

I haven't checked in for a while and need to catch up on your posts. Hoping and praying you make a Twin Cities stop on a future tour.
