New Century makes a deep exploration of works by 2013-2014 Featured Composer Michael Daugherty, known for music with a unique, often funny, and always distinctively American virtuosity. The program ranges from Viva for solo violin, featuring Music Director Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg as soloist, to Elvis Everywhere for string quartet and tape. Serenade for String Orchestra in E Major, Op. 6, by Czech master Suk, completes the concert.

Value of each ticket: $10. You must be a California resident and 18 years or older to participate. Employees of KQED are not eligible to enter.
