Are you a music lover? Ever wonder about the fascinating process of building or restoring a piano? Well, here's your chance to see it in person. To celebrate the premiere of the documentary Miracle in a Box on Truly CA (airing this Sunday, May 22, at 6pm on KQED 9) we are offering you the opportunity to enter to win a tour of the restoration shop featured in the film - Callahan Piano.
Callahan Piano is offering an exclusive 1 hour tour of the restoration shop in Alameda for you and up to two guests (children are welcome). Over a dozen Steinway pianos are undergoing restoration at any given time in the workshop and several restored vintage Steinway grands will also be available to play. The tour will take place on Saturday, June 11 at noon and will be led by Owner and Operator John Callahan, who is also featured in the film.
To enter, email us your answer to the following trivia question correctly to firstname.lastname@example.org:
What year was piano manufacturer, Steinway & Sons, founded?
From all entries, we'll randomly select 3 winners. Deadline for this contest is Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Winners will be notified the following day.
So enter our contest, and then tune in on Sunday to Miracle in a Box, which follows the restoration of a 1927 Steinway grand piano bequeathed to the music department at UC Berkeley with the stipulation that it be given to "a worthy student of piano." Narrated by John Lithgow, the program details the exciting competition that follows to find such a student.
Value of this tour is $250.
