I forgot to add in my earlier comment...
In response to Lauren Ladd's comment: "If your gay or metrosexual, I don’t think this is the kind of place that likely to embrace you!" I completely disagree.
Me and my girlfriend felt completely at home at this place.

I had dinner with my girlfriend early on a Saturday night (around 6pm) and had a great time. We sat at the bar and had dinner. We were completely entertained by the bartender, who made a mean margarita and had the gift of gab. I also loved the jazz music playing on the stereo. I felt at home right away.

The food was not excellent or unique but was quite good. I had the garlic prawns and she had the carne asada dinner. We also had guacamole. The food wasn't any better than many other Mexican restaurants in SF including Roosevelt Tamale Parlor, Restaurente El Delphin , Puerto Alegre , Don Ramon's Mexican Restaurant or Brisas De Acapulco Mexican Restaurant to name a few.

The plusses to eating Marta's food is being in the lively and friendly Jay'n Bee bar, which is now my new favorite bar. I will go back for sure. If you like the idea of hanging out in a friendly bar in the Mission and know you might get hungry, you should definately give this place a try. And now that this episode debuted a few weeks ago, it's not quite as busy with the initial onslaught of the curious "Check Please Bay Area" viewers.

Jay 'N Bee Club -- The food was good, if nothing to write home about. But good luck getting a table if you show-up alone on a Monday night, after work! This place caters to its regulars, -- with a vengence. In fairness, the proprietor he did his very best under the circimstance to accomodate me -- but sitting in on the patio at night, waving away the second-hand smoke from a solitary smoker in November is a grim experience. I felt like I had been exiled. Finally. I did pickup a bit of the ambiance when I overheard a guy and girl inside the bar get into a heated exchange of words -- replete with profanity. This is a guys' night out kind of bar that happens to have a decent Latina cook and a few daughters who also appears to be in exclusive exile in the Kitchen. If you go with a guy or a group, I'm sure the experience is different altogether. If your gay or metrosexual, I don't think this is the kind of place that likely to embrace you!

<strong>Next time theres an Octogenarian on the show i think a little more respect should be shown instead of instantly cutting him off every twenty seconds. Ed, i agree with many things you said and found them very valuable. Shame on the rest of the crew.
