    Dear Da Lian,

After seeing you on Check Please, I’m anxious to bring friends there for dinner. I have one question: do you use MSG in your cooking? My friends are very allergic to MSG and get very sick with only a llittle in their food. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Hope to see you soon.

    Sincerely,
    Bob Ribelin

Regarding MSG, the front of Da Lian’s menu is marked prominently “NO MSG”.

We just ate there tonight. We ordered four dishes. While the food was fresh we both thought all the dishes lacked flavor. The service was rather anemic also. We will not go back.
