We had a disasterous experience. The service was as slow as we’d ever experienced, taking over 45 minutes for our food to arrive after we ordered, which wasn’t timely after we were seated. My dining companions were served before me. When mine finally came it wasn’t what I ordered. I told the waiter, who convinced me to accept it anyway. Because I didn’t want another lenghty wait, I complied, but after a couple bites I told them to take it away. And it was expensive, they made no compensation on the bill. I will NEVER go back. .
AWSOME! This is true sicilian dinning, everything is old school! DON’T WALK IN HERE WITH FAST FOOD EXPECTATIONS, leave you american lifestyle outside, you must want to relax and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere! All traditional sicilian decorations! But the food, where can I start! You must get the antipasta Caponata, gnocchi alla norma, and the Spiadine, soooo good! Stray from you “california” wine path and get a 100% Nero D’Avola sicilian wine! Dessert, I think it’s called Bombo di Ciocolato, don’t ask, just try it. get a little dessert wine or just some good old espresso, almost as good as being in italy. Once again, this is no tourist attraction, don’t expect your average american style restaurant, this is sicilian pace, style, and passion. Buon appetito!!!
highly recommended for anyone looking for the sort of special dining experience you would hope to share with treasured family and friends. not the sort of place to be in a hurry, the focus here is on Life, rather than a rapid turn-over of tables. (take a clue from the fact that there’s almost always a wait to get in during high-times, and there’s good reason why people will happily wait for it. enjoy a glass of wine or three while you watch the bustling activity of the open kitchen!) excellent food prepared to Momma Rosas high standards, the frequent wonderful specials will force you to decide between them and the dishes you’ve already tried and love. an atmosphere full of passion for Life and food were you could show up in jeans or your best suit while out for a night on the town; the sort of place more than one young man has chosen to propose.
a few visits here and you’re likely to feel more like a friend of the family than a customer.
order several different things and share them, then try to leave room for dessert; many of them are fabulous, but the Tiramisu is as good as it gets!
