Pear Street is great for an afternoon cocktail, and an apitizer. In fact they have a great happy hour everyday. The Bartender Lisa is amazing! I often make a trip out to Pinole just to enjoy the mojitos, and daily $3 cocktails! But unfortunatly rarely venture passed the bar to the dinning room. Friendly people, great appitizers, and say what you will but the signature pizza is to DIE for!

How sad. It's been a good 2 years since I've eaten at the Pear Street Bistro, but I have to say back then, the food was quite good. Has it changed or am I missing something?

Don't skip Pinole - just skip the Pear Street Bistro. We too have eaten at the Bistro and had a less than memorable experience, (actually we've eaten there twice - thinking that they deserved a "second chance"). The food is pedestrian at best, the room is loud and the prices are absurd. But, there is an excellent resturant just a block away. The Pinole Creek Cafe offers excellent California cuisine with an Asian touch at reasonable prices, The wine list is nothing to write home about -we recommend that you bring your own. So if you happen to be in greater metropolitan Pinole, the Pinole Creek Cafe is the place to dine.

I've been to the Pear St Bistro three times, once for lunch and twice for dinner, so when I took friends with me, two weeks ago I expected that we'd have a great meal close to home. I was wrong. Most of the best items weren't on the menu. No short ribs, no molten cake and what they called paella, well it came to the table in a rather small soup bowl, just thrown together, watery -not baked and utterly tasteless. We have so few nice places to go in our area. It is very sad that they couldn't keep up the quality. Definitely a huge disappointment.

My husband and I went to Pear Street Bistro after watching the review of the restaurant on your show. We wanted to try something new and be adventurous. After pulling up to the restuarant and seeing it almost empty he started to worry. We should of stayed in the car and driven home. We started with appetizers of prawns and their signature pear pizza. Both were just fair but since the pizza was their signature I had high hopes. It barely had anything on it and the balsamic reduction was so sparingly used I almost asked for more. That was the good part of the meal from then on it went progressively downhill! My husband and son had the ribeye steak and frites...the steak was very fatty, undercooked, and very thin and the fries were not much to talk about. I had the shrimp bisque and could not even eat it, neither could my husband or son. I also ordered the chicken sandwich which was dry and not very exciting and no frites came with it!!! My husband and son ordered dessert which we should have passed on. My son had the peach cobbler (canned peaches!!!!) and my husband the chocolate molten cake which tasted like they ordered it from someone. The best part of the dinner was the glass of red wine my husband and I had. I recommend that you pass on this restaurant and don't waste your time looking for PINOLE!!!
