Barns, Nuthouses, and One-Night Stands

“First off, it was LOUD! Really LOUD! It definitely has a party atmosphere. Hip-Hop and R&B music was piped in, across the bar on either side a football game was blaring from two TVs, and the place was packed. It has a very down-home southern vibe — like you’re eating in a big barn with all of your friends and neighbors. I like the fact that it is a very diverse crowd with people from all walks of life.”

“Havana definitely had a lively social feel and was a great place for people watching. I got the feeling that this was a place where people came to work on their one-night stand skills.”

“Why would I recommend a place like Viks? After all, you can’t really get a complete meal there, and it is, in part, a nuthouse…But the chaos is worth it, for this kind of South Asian (thus mainly vegetarian) snack food must, by definition, be prepared to order, and Viks does so with meticulous attention to balanced flavors and ultra-fresh ingredients.”
