I as enjoying my sandwich when Elena hijacked half of it in exchange for half of hers. I can't wait to go back and eat a whole sandiwch.

MBCS... brings back old memories when it was for espresso and desserts. Mario would have his sweater on and everyone was comfortable. Times change, but glad to hear the place is still going and now has good food.

I have been going to Mario's on a monthly basis for the past seven years. After my last visit I decided that I will never go again. The service is normally excellent and the food quite palatable. However, on this particular night I was verbally assaulted by the waiter. I could not believe it when he spoke threateningly at me and my wife. Ironically, we pride ourselves on being polite to wait staff, always and everywhere. I don't know if anyone else has ever suffered the treatment of this fellow but I hope that you never fall on his bad side!

I am a regular here and I have to say that I have tried most things on the menu. I highly recommend the hot eggplant sandwich on foccacia (the breaded eggplant with marinara and cheese) and the hot italian sausage sandwich on foccacia--these 2 are wonderful and many of the others are pretty lackluster. Try the "house compari" cocktail, it is very different, and it's Mario's history is rich!
