i agree with what 'hood girl said above. I've been there before, and was not really impressed wth the flavors and boldness of the dishes there.

The presentation and design of each plate is breath-taking, which is why, in my opinion, a lot of people enjoy the food. It goes back to what they teach you in cooking school, "Customers eat with their eyes". People will convince themselves that something is good, in some cases, just because it LOOKS like it's good.

Limon's food looks gorgeous, and is OK. But they repeated a lot of main ingredients in many dishes. And a lot of the "exotic" produce that they use is frozen, because they have to ship it in from South America, and you can taste that it's frozen. Why ship in a specialty ingredient, when it tastes bland due to its' freezing? This is especially questionable becase we live in Northern California, where we get some of the best produce in the whole world!

Although the food looked great, it didn't have the explosion of flavor which its appearance had promised.

I guess since this is in the "hip" Valencia corridor it's kool, hip and good. Unfortunately everthing tastes the same - the sauces make all the food look and taste alike. Don't get me wrong. The sauce is good but I want my appetizers to taste different from my main course and that just isn't the case here. Also, the place gets so loud you can't even hear yourself think let alone carry on a conversation. If you want hip and kool this is the place to go. If you want great food, look elsewhere. Unfortunately, these places are taking over the neighborhood make good, reasonably priced food harder to find.
