Jason Mann

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jason Mann is an independent filmmaker based in New York City. Jason’s previous short film On the Revolutions of Heavenly Spheres, made while he was still a student at Loyola Marymount University, premiered at the Boston Film Festival in 2007 and subsequently played at the Palm Springs and Newport Beach film festivals. The film garnered awards for Best Film and Best Director from LMU. His prior film Laocoön, shot on location in Italy, received the university’s award for Best Cinematography and was broadcast on PBS’ Fine Cut.
Jason has produced films in Corfu, Greece and Johannesburg, South Africa.

He was the director of photography and co-producer for the College Humor web series Bad Dads, starring Michael Cera and Will Hines. He was also the director of photography for the narrative feature The Year of the Gun, shot in Lagos, Nigeria, about Nigeria’s political upheaval in the 1980s. He had previously collaborated with director Seyi Babatope on commercials and music videos, one of which won “Video of the Year” from MTV Africa in 2008. Jason received a Bachelor’s Degree in Film Production from Loyola Marymount University and is pursuing an M.F.A. Degree in Film Directing from Columbia University.
