The United States and 5 other world powers are trying to rein in Iran’s ability to make a nuclear weapon. And they’ve agreed the best way to do that is to strike a deal that reduces Iran’s nuclear program over the next 15 years. Does a nuclear deal with Iran make sense?
This month, our arts “Do Now” prompt was inspired by a project created by artist Ala Ebtekar and a group of Bay Area students. They focused on the idea of legacy, and what they hoped to leave behind for future generations. Students worked with Ebtekar on creative writing pieces that were recorded and mixed into an audio track that was part of a sound art installation at the Asian Art Museum.
Is “peace within reach” as Iran’s new President Hassan Rouhani declared at the United Nations this week? He is seen to be more moderate than the former Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and disposed towards building bridges with the West.
