The presidential election is right around the corner, so it’s time to grade the president. President Obama has faced many challenges — how has he done as he approaches the end of his term? Explain what he has done well or what he could have done better to support your opinion.

Introduction

Much has happened these past four years in our country. President Obama has faced many challenges while in office as he has faced issues with the economy, health care, education, foreign relations, national defense, individual rights, and many more.

A Democrat would argue…… our country faced economic collapse when Obama took office and he helped stimulate the economy onto the road to recovery. He helped the country to avoid this collapse, and although the economy has not recovered, we are in a good position for growth. Supporters celebrate his health plan, the end the war in Iraq, and the fact that he killed Osama Bin Laden. They would argue that his efforts have strengthened democracy around the world.

A Republican might say….. Obama has extended the role of government, has not taken the right path to help our economy, and committed the country to huge debt. They feel that we are not better off today than we were four years ago.

In the video below, you will hear from people in his cabinet and congress discuss President Obama’s performance.

We encourage students to tweet their personal opinions as well as support their ideas with links to interesting/credible articles online (adding a nice research component) or retweet other people’s ideas that they agree/disagree/find amusing. We also value student-produced media linked to their tweets like memes or more extensive blog posts to represent their ideas. Of course, do as you can…and any contribution is most welcomed.

i think Obama gets a ‘B’, because he inherited a poor economy and all he can do is his best to get us out of it.

Obama gets an A from helping get jobs back that we shipped out of our country, lower our national debt and help raise our economy

Obama gets a “B+”, because he killed Osama and has pulled out our troops also not let us go back into a great depression.

Obama gets a B because he is trying to fix the economy and I like his way of letting other people contribute.

I think Obama deserves a C+, because he gave failing business’ government money and they couldn’t give it back.

i think Obama deserves a B- he did a good job for a while then started to go flat when the economy started to kick in and get worse.

I think Obama’s done pretty good I’ll give him a B in his presidency. He’s done great by ending the war of Iraq and killing Osama Bin Laden but he could do better by fixing economic problems.

the grade that i will give to barack Obama’s is a C-.the reason why i would give him a C- is because last night during the debate he dint seem to confident about his speech.i felt like Romney was really aggressive with his combats and barack didn’t really have much to say that really aggressive back.I feel that in the next debate barack should be more aggressive.

I think Obama deserves a C+ he didn’t follow through with all his promises and he lied to us about his birth certificate.

    • Kohler Hurtado

And his birth certificate makes all the difference?

I would give him a solid B. As we all know, he has not followed through on every idea he originally explained, but then again how could he? So far he has done well as president, especially dealing with multiple conspiracies and hate.

I would give President Obama a B+ because he was put into office with many problems. He has managed to take charge of a terrorist and make a difference in people’s lives. He has also created a lot of jobs to help the economy.

I don’t think that grading him would be the smartest. I feel that Obama did deliver but because of restrictions he could not deliver as much as we wanted him to. Obama brought a lot of change in the first two years, and that is what he promised. He brought what he said that he would.

I would give Mr. Obama a B+. I give him this because he has finally launched the mission to take out Osama. Which we’ve been trying to do for 10 years. He has also followed through with most of his promises. As we all know he didn’t follow through with all of his promises. But I think he said that he was going to do all of those things because he wanted to let the people know what his goals were. To support this country. He has helped out economy rise a bit. But we are still aren’t doing the absolute best that we could be doing. But we won’t be back on track for a while. And its nothing that will change any time soon. He has also pulled us out of one major war ground. And the war in Iraq isn’t as bad as it used to be. As he is also trying to get us out of there. So I think President Obama deserves a B+ for his efforts.

Well I don’t know that much about Obama but he made some good decisions, so I’m going to give him a B.

I think that we need a leader who is more of a philosopher about life and not someone who thinks in only one way. Country’s and money and politics and borders are all pointless and cause unnecessary deaths and war. People aren’t smart enough to just realize we all need to get together and accept the differences we all have. The day that people can actually think about others and not them self’s and personal gain, will be a day were peace is truly gained.

Obama is now a net job creator. Unemployment has now dropped below 8% as he promised before taking office. Auto industry saved. Real Estate on the rebound and many new home owners created due to first time home buyers tax credit (which I personally benefited from). Bin Laden dead. Universal health care finally accomplished. Arab Spring supported. Pirates thwarted and now shut down. Don’t ask don’t tell overturned and Gay marriage rights supported. All of that accomplished despite the GOP laying down to block the path of our country’s success and openly admitting they will not cooperate with Obama in order to make him a one term president. It’s no wonder he looked tired at the debate. He’s been busting his tail for all of us for four years. Romney wants to be the President of the united Red states only.

I think they’re both liars who are making empty promises. if you want someone to make a real difference, vote for someone else.
Obama: B b/c he’s finally stating to make his move and slowly keeping his promises.

I think Obama has done well but nor great. He’s spent the most money as president but there haven’t been any wars. He could’ve been more prepared with answers instead of just denying in the debate though.
