Leslie SbroccoMy name is Leslie Sbrocco and I’m the host of Check, Please! Bay Area. Each week, I will be sharing my tasting notes about the wine the guests and I drank on set during the taping of the show. I will also share some wine tips with each episode.

2008 Hearst Ranch “Three Sisters Cuvee,” Paso Robles, California $20
From the folks who bring you Hearst Ranch beef comes a wine that pairs beautifully with a grilled sirloin. A blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvedre, this Rhone-style red is smooth, smoky, and plush. A deliciously affordable sip for those who crave bold.

2010 Breggo Pinot Gris, Anderson Valley, California $25
A superstar when it comes to aromatic whites, Breggo’s Pinot Gris captures the grape’s elusive pale pink hue and couples it with a sumptuous texture. It’s a white for lovers of uniqueness. Serve alongside creamy cheeses, spicy fare, and sushi.

I look forward to this show every week. Thanks to the folks at Check Please for creating a show worth watching. I love the guest comment and interaction and Host Leslie Sbrocco’s personality and helpful tips. The only thing I wish for is more time and resource to try all the wonderful restaurants presented on the show!

I was very surprised to hear the comments of the two ladies that visited Sapore’s restarant in Burlingame in this week’s episode of Check Please Bay Area.

My wife and I have frequented Sapore’s restaurant sinece it opened. We have taken many friends and relatives there and they all have returned many times on thier own.

The menu choices have always been very good.
Apparently the two ladies have a very spicy palate which is not whta Sapore’s offers. Their food is seasoned, but not heavily spiced.

It is a small place that exudes a lot of energy. The staff has always been very gracious and helpful. The owners are very supportive to the local community amd have always been very generous to local causes.

A couple of years ago we hosted a family party there and all our guest were very pleased with the food and service.

I am very surprised at the comments of the two ladies on the show.

Agree with comment above on Sapore. My family and I have been treated super well from day one and now we go there at least twice a month as a result.

Rustica is to die for, pizzas always hot and tasty with that sweet tomatoes.

Elio is extremely hospitable and Massimo is a lot shyer and retiring. Check out their yelp review for the real public validation of this great place.
