We've always enjoyed eating at Buckeye until last night. Had a completely forgettable meal for a lot of money. I had a $28 filet mignon that was about three inches in diameter and not very thick. It wasn't filet mignon tender and didn't have that rich steak taste. There was very little crab in my crab cakes. My wife had salmon that was fine but the portion was also tiny.

I've been there about 3-4 times. In a few words:
expensive
worth it
great desserts
??Denny's??
home-y ... yes
warm...yes
reservations...essential
rating : 8/10......altho this is consistently one of the best ranked restaurants in Marin...I believe we Marin-nites, when it comes to restaurants, are bottom-dwellers compared to Berkeley and SF foodies.

An upper middle class Denny's? While I haven't eaten at a Denny's in a while, I would think that one quick look at the diversity and creativity of the appetizer menu at Buckeye would disprove that comparison. Seems kind of silly...
