Just learned Memphis Minnie's also is part of the airline dining programs, where you can earn airline miles for dining there. While I haven't eaten there yet, I may give it a try after watching the show last night in order to save some airline frequent flyer miles about to expire.

This episode was great, but the man's fingernails in the Memphis Minnie's BBQ segment were filthy and disgusting. You have got to have your hand models manicured (with CLEAN nails, please!) before you film them scooping up food. It's highly unappetizing to see nasty, dirty nails touching food and it lowers the quality of your show.

On the Sunday of the grand reopening of the Academy of Sciences (Sept. '08), I was in the city, so I tried this restaurant because I'd liked the reviews on the show. While it was passable, it doesn't warrant repeat patronage, aside from slightly quirky ambiance, not much to write home about. Also, the operating personnel reminded me of Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi": if they liked you, you got preferential treatment; for whatever reason I wasn't 'right' so portion size and civility were noticeably reduced. Smiles. J
