in fact it is completely up to viewers to appear as reviewers and so the show does not control the content, the content as to what restaurants are reviewed are based on the viewers volunteering to appear.. and yes, san francisco has more great restaurants and venues than surrounding areas..

Marie, you do realize that San Francisco is the center of the Bay Area, both for food and culture, right? I am not knocking all the fine food and cultural institutions around the Bay Area, but let's be real. A lot more people head to SF for the a night out on the town than do, say, Orinda or San Rafael. And honestly, I think the show does cover a lot of restaurants beyond SF's borders. It seems there is a non-SF restaurant on virtually every episode. Just because the show doesn't limit itself to SF doesn't mean it cannot still focus on SF and the surrounding communities.

Although I really like Check Please Bay Area, I wish it really covered the bay area instead of treating anything outside San Francisco like a far away outpost. Why is everything centered in SF when the show's title says, "Bay Area?" Why are the guest just from SF?
