My family and I went a few weeks ago and ordered the hot pot. The first thing I wondered was where the spoons were. How were we supposed to eat soup without spoons? We had to ask our waiter for a ladle and bowls, and we never did get the spoons. The food was average and overpriced: four dollars for a small plate of rice noodles? All of us went home hungry. We won't be returning.

I am an executive chef and this restaurant is by far the best Chinese food in the city. Consistently fantastic. It rivals any restaurant in the Bay Area. This is my humble opinion.

just had a terrible meal at Old Islamic. Can we say oily food?! After spending $36 bucks on a bad meal they asked us to pay cash or with a debit card, but eventually took our Visa. I would understand if the bill was $10 that the merchant fees would eat up their profit, but at $36 bucks based on the staff recommendations, I was done with this experience.

Seriously, stick to page one and two of the menu and you will be in heaven. DO NOT stray from this strategy (hot pot excepted) and you will have a wonderful meal. I hope Carter gives it a second chance.
