After trying this restaurant, we were pleased with the quality. The rabbit was delicious and the butternut squash tart shouldn't be missed. The wine list is spectacular. I recommend ordering wine by the glass to pair with each course. The price for a glass is comparable to purchasing a bottle and it allowed me to try different types as well as keeping the meal interesting.

So after watching the Check Please Bay area program, I was really excited to try 1550. I have been 3 times and never have been dissappointed in my dining experience. The last time I went there were at least two other couples in the restaurant that had seen 1550 on Check Please, and they both agreed with me that this was a great recommendation.
Since I live in the East Bay, I like to take my out of town friends here so we can catch a ride on the cable car back to the BART. Definitely worth the drive and the price. Take advantage of the wine pairings as well. The chef can recommend a wine for any dish.
They have this espresso with gelato in it that is to die for. Get that and the Scharfen Berger Pot de creme for a lovely dessert (and of course the recommended dessert wines).
