I take it you will be voting to cut police, fire and school then? Because, at the end of the day, there are only two ways to balance any budget: make cuts or get more revenue. The less you do of one, the more you have to do of another. And generally people cut the stuff they don't consider essential. So, in my own household, we cut out magazine subscriptions for example. With the State budget we're down to schools and public safety. Either you feel those two items are on par with the magazine subscriptions (i.e., they can be cut) or you raise revenue and yes, that does mean taxes. It's a choice. And you get to make it.

Ultimately, extra tax money wont matter. Fiscal junkies compose and vote on the state budget. The only actual way to restore responsive virtue in office, is to wholesale remove the current legislature who will decieve you for the end result. In their minds, they just know what is best for you!

Lets be blunt. Fungibility (nifty word, says it all) of public tax funds makes any plea for an otherwise popular cause just another bunco scam. Remember how state sponsored lotto gambling was justified as dedicated just for the school system? The legislative bunco artists simply redirected non-lotto school budget funds to other pet causes for a net gain to schools of………ZIP or less!
If you enjoy being played for a fool, you will pay well for it in this state!
