Perhaps you’re a dim sum disciple of the venerable Yank Sing located in downtown San Francisco, but there’s plenty of other places in the Bay Area to snack on this delightful Chinese fare.

For the past eight years, interior designer Grant K. Gibson has called San Francisco home. Both Domino and Elle Decor magazines have recently named him on their lists as a “Designer to Watch.” He said, “I think that we are SO lucky in SF to have some of the best food and chefs in the world. Love it!” Gibson cooks often, and chronicles his adventures in design, food and travel on his blog. He shared some of his favorite Bay Area places to eat and shop with BAB.
But as long as we’re indulging, why not throw in some adult libations as well? Of course there is the standard Peppermint Schnapps for a tried and true candy-cane flavored holiday aperitif, but what about some amaretto, Frangelico or whiskey to liven things up? Or, as Fred McMurray says in the classic Double Indemnity, “I wonder if a little rum would get this back on its feet?”
A pretty Southern belle of a pie, with little flair: classic golden graham cracker crust coated with dark chocolate ganache, sweet bananas, thick vanilla-specked pastry cream, and pillows of soft whipped cream swirled with salted caramel.
