Chances are you live a stone’s throw away from a Thai restaurant in your neighborhood, and you’ve got a go-to local favorite for pad thai. These days I often find myself traveling north of Berkeley, where there’s quite a few wonderful Thai eateries clustered in Albany, El Cerrito and San Pablo locales.

In the Napa Valley, Connie Green has been foraging for mushrooms, berries, greens and much more since the early 1970s — and she’s made quite a business out of it by selling her bounty to some of California’s very best restaurants.
Host Scott Shafer sat down with Connie Green to talk about the new book she’s written with chef Sarah Scott, called “The Wild Table.”
“Seed saving” is a technique that has largely fallen by the wayside in modern agriculture. And that’s reduced the genetic diversity of the crops we rely on. But now, a handful of groups in the San Francisco Bay Area are starting their own seed-saving efforts. Reporter: Lauren Sommer
