A fresh study looks at what happens after people change their meat-eating habits. Those who upped their intake — about 3.5 servings more per week — saw their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes during four years of follow-up increase by almost 50 percent.

No surprise that Waters demurred on answering SFist Editor Brock Keeling’s query, “What is your favorite junk food?” However she did eventually agree to share her favorite Bay Area food-related faves with BAB. Waters has lived in North Berkeley, “a short walk away from Chez Panisse, for over 40 years.”
On a cool, foggy morning in July, a group of about 15 of us gathered in a gravel-scattered parking lot in front of the farm buildings for a combination talk and walk across the rolling acres that form the center of Marin Sun’s network of sustainably-managed, pasture-raised livestock operations. The free tours are held once a month, usually from mid-spring through mid-fall, before the winter rains begin.
