I love the Humuhumu restaurant at the Grand Wailea, not just for the ambiance. The food is spot on (despite being a bit over-priced). However, my absolute favorite spot to eat on Maui is Longhi’s for breakfast. They have a beautiful patio where you can enjoy a French press of Kona coffee, delicious fresh fruit from upcountry, and perfect baked treats.

Flights are pretty good now, and so are the hotel deals. Hawaiian offers direct flights to Maui; I just checked from Oakland and you can fly non-stop r/t for less than $340 inclusive. Even next week! I’m a Maui resident, and we’d love to have you visit!

Good God, Maui No Ka Oi. I’m so overdue. Haven’t been back since I sold the timeshare in the 90′s. Regret it since. Thanks for the ono info.
