I entered this week's 'foodie fights' reluctantly because of the name- not sure I am ready to be one of them. The word is kind of like 'panties' to me. Pretentious, awkward, and kinda dirty. That said, the self professed 'foodies' I have met have been remarkable for their openness, passion, and down-to-earthedness.....so perhaps, like panties, its a label I should just suck it up and wear.
