It's been years sine you posted this, but I thought I would let you know that I, too, always think of T.S. Eliot when I buy peaches. The idea rings in my ears every time! It's sad and beautiful all at once. Lovely post, and happy VERY belated birthday (two years IS a bit much, isn't it?).

Michelle,

I'm so glad this recipe is working out for you. Sadly, I neglected to make any this year. I suppose there still is time...

OK. I have made these for the 2nd year in a row. I process mine for 20 mins and store them, though. Plus I quadruple the batch. Our friends rip each other to shreds to get a jar from the first batch, which I give away. The rest, we hoard. :)

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the recipe!! My parents have a peach tree out in the east bay, and I made a whole slew of jam and a couple of bottles of your brandied peaches this weekend...I can't wait to try them. I think I could have used a few more peaches, since the jar is only 1/2 full..but I stuck to the recipe as this is my first time.

PS I'm a poet too, so loved the Prufrock reference!!

Cheers,
Ingrid

Thanks very much.

You know, I think you could sprinkle kitchen cleanser on a peach and it would still be delicious in my book.
