All of those places sound great to me, and I've only been to a couple. Looks like I have a new list of places to hit when I come to town!

Heh, "ample application of salsicca." Love it!

Also, thanks for the tip of Piccino's baby-friendliness. I know that even when we're comfortable going out, we're going to be quite nervous about baby-friendliness of places and of bothering other patrons with colossal amounts of gear and a potentially-loud baby.

When I was in the last throes of pregnancy, Sher told us that Piccino pizza was a sure-fire inducement device. Didn't work -- I was two weeks late even with ample application of salsiccia. But it is still worth every bite. And, post-pregnancy, Piccino is one of the most baby-friendly places we've found for a long, wine-soaked late lunch on warm weekends.

There is a brief period of time, after you catch your breath, before the baby sleeps regularly at X o'clock, that you can go out, and you might enjoy it - baby likes looking around and falls asleep in the bustle of the restaurant. But once baby likes going to sleep (say, around 5:30pm) and rewards you by staying that way for a while, there's no going out unless you get a sitter....On the other hand, restaurants are easier to swing than, say, shows that start at a set time.

Great list! Eight of these are on my "try to get there" list for whenever I am in town (along with Burma Superstar, Pizzetta 211, and some East Bay faves).

PS. At Duartes, along with soup and pie, I like the cold artichoke appetizer which is better warm (they'll do it if you ask).
