I adore escarole. I grew up eating it on a regular basis in San Diego. My mom made a great escarole and white bean dish that I try to duplicate. Unfortunately I often can't find it in the East Bay other than at Berkeley Bowl (which is a bit far and a nightmare to park in their lot). I've looked for it at Whole Foods and local grocery stores; but no luck. I occasionally see it at the farmer's market, but this is hit or miss. I realize you're in San Francisco and I'm in the East Bay, but would love to know where you get it.

btw: please ditch the resolution to stop going off on tangents. We love them.

I used to get escarole at the Market Hall in Rockridge. That place is amazing and their produce is one of the only things there that is not too overpriced, epecially considering the quality. Great post!

Hi Denise,

I couldn't find it at Whole Foods, either, which was annoying. I located a stash at Mollie Stone's. Whether or not it is a regular thing for them is unknown to me.

I have decided to follow your orders and keep on being my old, 2008 tangential self.
