I left my ~4 year old starter in the fridge, probably for about 4 months, and just revived it last week. It did beautifully, and is back to full strength, creating lovely Xmas loaves for the neighbors. The recipe originally is from Nancy Silverton's LaBrea Bakery bread book, also using grapes (from our back yard). Her recipes are wonderful and have never failed me, so are highly recommended.

I've always been curious how to make sourdough starter, but never thought you'd begin with grapes. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. Let me know if your starter gets too big. I'll gladly take some off your hands.
