Well, now I have one more place to stop when I finally make my pilgrimage to San Francisco. Thanks for the heads-up!

Also, Chuao is a different company - they're based in Leucadia, just north of San Diego (so far as I know; that was the store at which the owners worked, anyway). And their chocolates are great. :)

Chuao Cambur? I didn't see that one. I will give it a try the next time I pop in. Agreed, Cybele, on the strawberry balsamic one. Oh well. I'm certainly not faulting them on that when there is so much that is wonderful to select from.

I realy couldn't tell you about how they compare to Charles Chocolates-- I think there are several Charles-obsessed bloggers here who might be able to answer that question upon tasting.

As for Recchiuti, I have always been and shall remain a huge fan of his. According to the young lady at Elbow's with whom I chatted, Recchiuti and Elbow are on quite friendly terms. Frankly, I find their individual approaches to chocolate making so different that it is hard for me to compare them.

Separate, but equal.

I loved the hot chocolate, it's not at all sweet, just chocolatey.

I buy the orange blossom honey every opportunity I get. But some pieces are real misses for me, the strawberry balsamic is one of them.

If you're a banana fan, try the Chuao Cambur piece, I think it's divine.
