I've had the pleasure of knowing Ze'ev for a few years now and have been honored to visit his garden, travel with him to Italy for a Mediterranean Garden Society annual meeting, and hear him lecture about his beloved herbs at a local meeting. I have one of his beautiful caper bushes growing and cascading down a small 'mountain' in our garden. Indeed, he's full of funny, sweet and sometimes a bit salty stories. A delightful man.

Ze'ev's wife was my second-grade teacher -- about 50 years ago! I still remember her fondly. I ran into him at the UC Botanical Garden a while back; you've captured his charm in your article. Thanks!

Excellent portrayal of Ze'ev, who also happens to be my father. I might add that as well as he has tended to his herbs and gardens, he has managed to even surpass that in his skills as a father. Thank you for such a terrific article on my Dad. The pictures are equally as amazing. His phone number has changed to (925)631-0199. Please note the new area code.
